La Coordinadora Catalana d'Entitats Budistes

The CCEB coordinates Buddhist centres in Catalonia. It was born in 2007 in response to the need to coordinate and create synergies between Buddhist organisations and centres in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. It was created to present and represent Buddhism in the society into which it had become integrated over the previous thirty years or more.

This aim is reflected in the constituent objectives of the association, which are:

- To create a legal link between the religious communities, foundations and associations which, as part of one of the various recognised forms of Buddhism, aim to preserve, promote and spread Buddhism.

- To represent the associate organisations before public authorities, the media and other public and private organisations and associations.

- To facilitate cooperation and collective action with other local, national and international Buddhist organisations and before public bodies and social entities.

- To promote the recognition and integration of Buddhism in society.

The CCEB thus hopes to promote human values in all areas of society, promoting the common good and peace through the dissemination and practice of Buddhist teachings.

The coordinating committee is formed by religious and secular not-for-profit legal entities that are defined as Buddhist in their articles of association and that promote Buddhism -- the traditions established by the Sakyamuni Buddha -- and accept its common basic principles.

The CCEB is legally established as a not-for-profit association and is registered on the Government of Catalonia's Register of Associations in Section 2a.-592.

Member organisations

The CCEB's mission is to coordinate, support and represents all Buddhist organisations and centres in Catalonia, irrespective of their tradition or school, with the aim of supporting the various expressions of Buddhism.
